Between now and Thanksgiving, most of what's happening in downtown Arab sits between 40 and 115 North Main Street. Fall Fest and the Farmers Market sit a few blocks farther up the same road. The day after Thanksgiving, the season moves to City Park and the Arab Historic Village. So the fall calendar has two locations and a known handoff date, and the newest business on Main Street changes how late the first half of the season runs.
That business is Mozza Pizza at 41 N. Main St. Hville Blast reported it open on August 3, 2026. It serves New York-style pizza along with sandwiches, salads and pasta, and it's open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Sunday. Its published hours run later than anything else in this guide except Fall Fest night. That matters most on an October evening, when you might finish a shop visit and not want to drive home for dinner.
Walking North Main, Lowest Number to Highest
Everything below comes from a current business website, a 2026 listing, or the Arab Chamber of Commerce directory. Hours on a given day can change, so check a store's own page before a special trip.
- Grit & Grace Boutique, 40 N. Main St. The Chamber lists it for western apparel and décor for men, women and children. It opened with a sip-and-shop ribbon cutting on August 28, 2025. The online store is active, but no 2026 storefront hours were found, so call ahead.
- Mozza Pizza, 41 N. Main St. It sits one street number from Grit & Grace, and its daily 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. hours make it the evening stop for this end of the street.
- Deep South Mercantile, 64 N. Main St. It calls itself a modern mercantile with a vintage feel. Its current site lists hours seven days a week and shows an active product catalog.
- Southern General, 101 N. Main St. This shop carries men's clothing, boots, grooming products, and everyday-carry and leather goods. The store's own website gives 101 as the address and the Chamber directory gives 105, so expect it somewhere on that part of the block.
- Four Knights Coffee, 109 N. Main St. The Chamber lists the coffee shop at this address. It hosted a Spring Door Hanger workshop on February 28, 2026, which shows it doubles as a small event space.
- Alabama Wax & Wicks, 115 N. Main St. This is a candle shop with a Pour Bar where you blend your own candle. It also books parties through its website.
That's six businesses in about 75 street numbers: coffee in the morning, retail through the afternoon, and pizza until 9. Four Knights and Alabama Wax & Wicks also host workshops and parties, which gives the block some reasons to visit besides shopping. The Chamber listed several other downtown shops in its December 2025 holiday promotion, but this research found no 2026 operating information for them, so they aren't included here.
The Farmers Market's Last Stretch
A few blocks up, the Arab Farmers Market works out of a covered pavilion at 307 N. Main St. It has twenty rentable booths, with vendors selling local produce, baked goods and canned goods. The Chamber's calendar lists it open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, September 23.
The city runs the market from April 1 through November 30 every year. That leaves about ten weeks in the 2026 season. The closing date also falls three days after Thanksgiving, the same weekend the season moves to City Park. For questions about market days or booths, the city lists Brittany Horton as coordinator at 256.338.5188.
The Dates Between Now and the Handoff
The table below lists each date and how firm it is. Some are posted by the organizer. Others come from a third-party listing or from a pattern the city describes but hasn't dated for 2026.
| Date | Event | Where | How firm |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sat., Oct. 24, 3 to 9 p.m. | 6th Annual Arab Downtown Fall Fest | Main Street, listed at 238 N. Main St. | Third-party listing, organizer says details to come |
| Sat., Nov. 7 | 2nd Annual Feelin' Groovy Festival | Venue not yet posted | Organizer's own site |
| Fri., Nov. 27 | Christmas in the Park kickoff | City Park | Based on the city's day-after-Thanksgiving pattern, no 2026 date posted |
| Mon., Nov. 30 | Farmers Market season ends | 307 N. Main St. | City's standing season dates |
Fall Fest is the biggest date on Main Street. The 2026 listing credits the Arab Downtown Merchants Alliance and promises activities, food, music and giveaways for young kids, with more details to come. The Chamber's event page still shows the October 25, 2025 festival, which had train rides, bounce houses, a witches parade, music, vendors and fall specials from downtown shops. The 2026 date is the fourth Saturday of October, like last year's, but confirm with the organizers before planning around it. Fall Fest also runs until 9 p.m., the same closing time Mozza keeps every night.
Feelin' Groovy comes from Growing Wild Events, the group that also runs Arab Rocks and Cash Mob, Arab, AL. Its site lists the second annual festival for November 7, 2026, and it's still taking vendor applications from makers, creators and bakers. A family-events calendar gives a different date and calls it the first annual. The organizer's date is the one to use.
The Christmas parade doesn't have a 2026 date yet. For reference, the Chamber's 2025 page planned a 5:30 p.m. parade on Main Street, with downtown shops staying open late, food trucks and store discounts.
The Day After Thanksgiving, the Season Moves Uphill
The city calls Christmas in the Park an annual kickoff on the day after Thanksgiving, with Santa in the Village open on weekends, weather permitting. Thanksgiving is November 26 this year, so the pattern points to Friday, November 27. The city hasn't posted a 2026 date or lighting time.
The setting is the Arab Historic Village, next to City Park. It has ten preserved buildings showing rural life from the 1880s to the 1940s. The city offers tours and lists weekday hours of Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. A weekday visit before the lights go up lets you see the buildings in daylight and without the weekend crowds.
City Park looks different this year. When the city broke ground in April 2025, it reported an $11 million recreation center going up at the park. Fite Building Company, the general contractor, describes a 38,000-square-foot building with a 26,800-square-foot sports floor. The floor splits into four competition areas for basketball, volleyball and other indoor sports, and the building also has locker rooms, a concession stand, a multipurpose room, meeting space and Parks & Recreation offices. Goodwyn Mills Cawood handled the design. The groundbreaking reports projected completion in Fall 2026. No 2026 update with an opening or ribbon-cutting date has been published, and Fite still lists it as a current project. For this holiday season, plan on it being a building still under construction next to the lights.
Planning Around the Two Halves
For a fall Saturday on Main Street, check Mozza's hours first. It's the one downtown spot confirmed open until 9 every day, so it can close out an afternoon at the six shops between 40 and 115 N. Main or a trip to the Farmers Market pavilion at 307. October 24 fills Main Street until 9 p.m. if the listed Fall Fest date holds. November 7 is the next date to watch, once Growing Wild Events posts a venue.
After Thanksgiving, the season moves to City Park, the Historic Village and Santa's weekend hours, and the Farmers Market closes that Monday. Of everything here, only Mozza's daily hours and the Farmers Market's season dates are confirmed for the whole fall.
